Year, 3,4, 5 and 6 afternoon work

This term, we will be looking at the Shang Dynasty. This long forgotten Chinese empire was long thought to be a myth and legend and stories to be told in Chinese culture. This was until in the 1800s an archaeologist discovered bronze artefacts buried in the ground. Also discovered were small fragments of bone that were once thought to be dragon bones. These bones with writing on matched the bronze artefacts found. This lead the archaeologist to conclude that they belong to an undiscovered civilisation that was previously un-found. The Shang Dynasty.

Over the course of this term, we are looking at the social structure of the society, religion, battles and warfare and the downfall of the Shang Dynasty.

This afternoon, Year 5 and 6 were learning about first aid. We discussed the acronym DRSABC and what it meant and how to work through the chest list when coming upon a casualty. We then learnt to put people in the recovery position when they are non-responsive but breathing. As we were finishing, the Year 3 and 4 children came in and joined in. Some of them even managed to move me.
